Online back-to-school toolkit
The Government of Alberta has launched an online Back to School Toolkit featuring a collection of resources and important information to help students, parents and education professionals gear up for a successful school year.
The toolkit can be found at: www.education.alberta.ca/backtoschool.
Students will find information about their curriculum, helpful study tips and links to www.b-free.ca, a webpage dedicated to bullying prevention. Students can also learn about ways to develop leadership skills and to help shape the future of education through Speak Out, Alberta Education’s innovative student forum.
The Back to School Toolkit features many useful resources for parents as well. These include My Child’s Learning: A Parent Resource, which breaks down curriculum by grade and subject in an easy to navigate format. Parents will find tips for helping their children with homework, resources for supporting healthy lifestyles and information about out-of-school care.
The Back to School Toolkit also provides information for Alberta’s teachers, school administrators and support staff.
