Trade Show Sets All-Time Attendance Record

April 25, 2012
By

The 2012 Fort Saskatchewan Trade Show & Sale set an all-time attendance record with over 6,000 people enjoying the city’s largest three-day event this past weekend. A total of 6,140 people entered the sold-out Trade Show & Sale, eclipsing the record set in 2011 of 5,875.

“Even though the weather was nice, it was great to see the community come out and support the businesses and groups at our show,” said Trade Show Committee Co-Chair Jana Rowe. “Our hard-working volunteers did a wonderful job. They deserve a great amount of credit for this year’s success.”

The Trade Show opened with a bagpipe procession Friday leading to the opening ceremonies and ribbon  cutting with Hon. Tim Uppal, Mayor Gale Katchur, Chamber President Tim Baker and co-chairs Jana Rowe & Kelly Lilja.

It closed on Sunday with Carol St. Pierre winning a $4,500 VIA Rail return trip between Vancouver and Edmonton and Catlin Marshall winning the $4,000 Lowe’s hot tub, bistro set and deck heater package.
In addition, judges selected top booths in four categories based on originality, overall design, attention to detail and staffing. The awards were handed out at Saturday’s exhibitor dinner. The winners were:
·         Fort Saskatchewan Minor Football – Best Community
·         Agrium – Best Industry
·         The Landscaping Company – Best Storefront
·         Stampin’ Up! – Best Home-Based

The Fort Saskatchewan Trade Show and Sale will return next year on Apr. 26, 27 and 28 in the Dow Centennial Centre.
